Geospatial visualization can be an effective tool for educating and training. We have developed several types of training products, most of which use Google Earth as a visualization platform to present scenarios or events. We have also posted a few tutorials to show how to use some of the features available in Google Earth. The GETA Group occasionally conducts training/collaboration sessions to share what we know and learn from others. If you would like to be involved in the next event, please contact us at getagroupsim@gmail.com A news article covering one training exercise is available here Most of our products are organized into three broad categories, (loosely) based on learning objectives, delivery time, and depth. These are: 1) Facilitated Learning Analysis - Google (FLAG) 2) Google Earth EXercise (GEEX) 3) Google Earth Staff Ride (GESR) (sometimes called a Google Earth Case Study) An interactive map of safety lessons learned doesn't fit exactly into those categories, but is available here. Recently, members of the group have also worked on some applications of 3D Modeling. Each of these products, and the tutorials, are explored further in the sub-pages. |
