A Facilitated Learning Analysis - Google, or FLAG, is a story that
can be learned from using geospatial tools like Google Earth to enhance
understanding. An event depicted in Google Earth can add many ways
(terrain matched photos, exact locations of events, time comparisons of
locations, etc.) to describe what happened during a given event.
The following files should be listed in groups by incident. The .kmz
file is the Google Earth depiction of the event. It can be viewed by
installing Google Earth, downloading the file and then double clicking
on the file. Supporting documentation used to build or facilitate the
FLAG can accompany the .kmz file.
We
invite you to look at some of our examples and submit your own. All
submissions will be looked at for content before posting, so please
submit a .doc with the following information or include it in your FLAG:
Author of the FLAG
Author's current position title
Title of the FLAG (often the event it is about)
Credit to anyone who helped you compile the FLAG
Contact information (email address will be posted)
Remember, a FLAG does not attempt to assign blame for a problem,
it is a tool to gain a better understanding of why something good or
bad happened. Submissions without the above information will not be
posted. As always, trust the source of your downloads, if you didn't
get it here, it has not been looked at by the GETA Group.
